From Fitness to Fun: How It All Began
Before joining the O-Volt universe, Laurie was already deeply rooted in the world of movement. As the owner of two fitness centers, she had long wanted to get kids moving just as much as adults.
The turning point? A vacant space right next to her gyms—followed by an unexpected encounter with the owners of O-Volt. Everything fell into place almost effortlessly, as if every piece of the puzzle clicked together at exactly the right time.
Barely a year later, O-Volt Trois-Rivières opened its doors… and the stars seemed perfectly aligned for the adventure to begin.

What does Laurie enjoy most about her daily life at O-Volt? The fact that there’s no such thing as a typical day.

An Unforgettable Evening: 200 Children, 200 Bursts of Joy
Among all the experiences Laurie has had at her center, one particular evening will remain etched in her memory.
With COMSEP and a local Subway, O-Volt Trois-Rivières organized a VIP evening for 200 children from low-income families — as well as their parents. Meals included, coordinated transportation, full access to the center: everything was designed to create a magical evening.
What touched Laurie the most wasn’t just the party itself. It was the children’s reactions when they learned they would experience an O-Volt evening, with their parents.
Wide eyes. Huge smiles. A simple, genuine joy. “It might be a cliché,” she says, “but giving brings as much — if not more — than receiving.”
Laurie perfectly embodies this spirit of generosity and inclusion. And it’s also at the heart of O-Volt’s values: creating accessible, memorable, and human experiences.
